Traditionally, fixed braces have been quite prominent. A brace would get set to the front of your smile, staying on show throughout your entire treatment. Lingual braces work exactly like standard fixed braces, with one subtle difference; they stay hidden behind the teeth.
A lingual brace is made from metal, just like a standard brace, but we attach them to the back of the teeth. This means nobody will see your braces while you’re receiving treatment.

How Do Lingual Braces Work?
We’ll attach a small metal bracket to the back of each tooth in the row we’re addressing. Next, we’ll feed an arch-wire through the brackets. Tension along this wire gradually moves the teeth into their new position.
We’ll tighten this wire at various points throughout your treatment to help guide your teeth.

The lingual braces journey has several steps. We’ll begin with a consultation to look at the position of your teeth. If we’re happy lingual braces will work for you, we’ll discuss the treatment in-depth and answer your questions. We’ll invite you back at a later date for a fitting appointment.
Your treatment length will depend on the severity of your case. We’ll give you an idea of how long you can expect to wear your brace during your initial appointment.
After a few weeks of wearing your brace, we’ll adjust it. We’ll ask you back for further adjustments periodically throughout the treatment.
Finally, we’ll remove the brace, and you can enjoy a lifetime of smiles.

Can Any Dentist Offer Lingual Braces?
Actually, this type of treatment is provided by only a few dentists as it requires special training. Dr Sepehrara was trained in the USA by the creator of the Lingual 6-Month Braces system.
Can They Be Used on Both Top and Bottom Teeth?
Yes, it is possible to use lingual braces on both top and bottom teeth, although they are more commonly used on the top teeth combined with tooth-coloured braces on the bottom.
Are Lingual Braces More Expensive?
Yes, this is because the braces are specially adjusted to fit your teeth and because of the complexity of the technique.
What Are the Advantages of Lingual Braces?
People love lingual braces because they’re truly invisible, and treatment times are shorter.
Will I Be In Pain After Treatment?
Your tongue may be sore, and you may have a temporary lisp while getting used to wearing lingual braces. You will get used to the braces after a couple of weeks.
