The smile of your dreams is within reach. Dental veneers are widely regarded as one the most comprehensive smile-enhancing cosmetic treatments available. At The Dental Suite, we’ve improved countless smiles with this popular procedure.

As with any dental procedure, you’ll always have lots of questions, such as—” How long will it take to get veneers?” ”How can I take care of my new veneers when they’re ready?” “Will people know they’re not my natural teeth?”

To help you make the right decision about the future of your smile, we’ve answered some of the most commonly asked questions about dental veneers. Read on to learn whether this is the treatment for you.

What Are the Benefits of Veneers?

Dental veneers are a wonderful way to address several cosmetic concerns you may have with your smile. Veneers give your teeth a more uniform appearance, covering cracks, chips, and other damage.

Covering the fronts of your teeth with veneers protects compromised surfaces, reducing the potential for decay, infection, or further damage.

Once in place, your smile will appear fresher and brighter, and mild misalignments and gaps will have gone.

What Are Dental Veneers Made From?

Your dental veneers will be made from fine porcelain. Each veneer is custom-made using precision techniques and is perfectly tailored for your specific tooth. We use high-quality materials coupled with the latest technology to create precision veneers that not only look natural but fit perfectly.

How Long Does It Take To Get Dental Veneers?

We’ll need to place your veneers over two appointments. During the first visit, we’ll prepare your teeth and take impressions.  Between your appointments, our laboratory will create the veneers, which will be placed on your final visit.

What Happens During the Veneer Procedure?

During the first step of your veneer procedure, we’ll remove a fine layer of enamel from your teeth. This makes space for your custom veneers to ensure they look completely natural and proportionate to the rest of your smile.

Once we’ve prepared your teeth, we’ll take impressions of your teeth so the laboratory can make the veneers. In your next appointment, we’ll position your veneers and bond them firmly in place.

Will Anyone Know My Dental Veneers Are Not My Natural Teeth?

The great thing about the materials and processes we use to create your veneers, they’ll look perfectly natural.

Once in place, nobody will know they’re there. You’ll get a more confident and radiant smile without it being noticeable or obvious.

Can I Whiten My Teeth After Having Veneers?

Although you can whiten any remaining natural teeth when you have veneers, you cannot alter the colour of the porcelain. If you’re thinking about whitening your teeth, let us know during your initial consultation, and we’ll advise you on the next steps.

How Long Will My Veneers Last?

Porcelain veneers can last for ten years or more. The length of time your veneers last will depend on how much care you take of them.

Once your veneers start to become worn, we can replace them.

How Durable Are Dental Veneers?

Porcelain is a durable material that will withstand the general wear and tear associated with eating. It isn’t indestructible, though, and it’s not as strong as natural tooth enamel. It’s best to avoid biting into anything solid that isn’t food. This means you shouldn’t bite pen lids or chew ice.

How Can I Look After My Veneers?

There are no special secrets to caring for your veneers. Simply brush your teeth twice daily, floss, rinse with mouthwash, avoid too much sugar or anything that could cause staining, drink plenty of water, and visit us for checkups and hygiene appointments regularly.
