VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic that bond directly to the front surface of the teeth. They offer a natural looking option, to correct, uneven, oddly shaped, crooked teeth. Veneers are used by cosmetic surgeons for front teeth only and are used to straighten teeth, change the colour and or the shape of the teeth.

How many appointments will I need?
Usually, you will need two to three appointments two weeks apart.
At the first appointment it is very important we get all the information that we require to get your beautiful smile. This would be photographs, models of your teeth and recording the way you bite. After we send all this information to our highly qualified technician we would get a blueprint of what your teeth could possibly look like. This would be shown to you for your approval.

At the preparation appointment
A small amount of tooth surface is removed. Temporary restoration will then be placed immediately after the preparations have been completed. We will arrange an appointment for you to meet our master technician to discuss colour, texture and the shape of your teeth.

The fitting of the veneers
Two to three weeks later the porcelain restorations will be tried for your approval. Once you are happy with them, they will be bonded to your teeth.

How long will the veneers last?
It is very important that hygienist appointments are maintained after the fit of the veneers. The veneers should last up to 10 years. There are various reasons why the veneers may require replacing. This could range from recession of the gums to fracture of the porcelain.
